This Is How It Always Is

"This Is How It Always Is" by Laurie Frankel is a novel that is bursting with emotion. Claude is a 5-year-old boy. When you are young, everyone dreams of what they will do and who they will become in adulthood. Claude has had a plan from a young age, when he grows up, he says that he wants to be a girl. His parents one goal is to make sure Claude is happy and comfortable in his own skin, although they aren't quite ready to share this with the world. This novel will explore the disposition of compassion and how far a family will go to keep a secret concealed at ones expense. I enjoyed reading every page of "This Is How It Always Is", and I would most definitely recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a captivating page-turner.
